Landing Pages

Overview

Landing Pages let you create search-powered pages that are tied to specific queries or product sets. Instead of a generic search results page, each landing page has its own URL, custom title, and curated content, making it ideal for SEO campaigns, seasonal promotions, and marketing links. Navigate to Advanced > Landing Pages in your ExpertRec dashboard (route: /ecom/landing-pages).

How Landing Pages Work

Each landing page is linked to a predefined search query. When a visitor arrives at the landing page URL, ExpertRec automatically executes that query and displays the results using your standard search widget layout. The page can also include custom headings, descriptions, and filters so it looks and feels like a handcrafted category page.

Creating a Landing Page

  1. Go to Advanced > Landing Pages and click Create Landing Page.
  2. Enter a page title and a URL slug (for example, summer-dresses).
  3. Set the linked query: the search term that will be executed automatically when the page loads (for example, “summer dresses”).
  4. Optionally add a page description and pre-selected filters to narrow the result set.
  5. Click Publish. ExpertRec generates a shareable URL for the page.

SEO Benefits

  • Indexable URLs: Each landing page has a stable, crawlable URL that search engines can index, unlike dynamic search result pages which are typically blocked by robots.txt.
  • Keyword targeting: Name your page and write its description around high-value keywords to attract organic traffic for those terms.
  • Internal linking: Link to landing pages from your homepage, navigation menus, and blog posts to pass link equity and drive traffic.

Use Cases

  • Seasonal campaigns: Create a “Holiday Gift Guide” landing page linked to a curated query and share it in email and social campaigns.
  • Brand pages: Surface all products from a specific brand on a dedicated, SEO-friendly URL.
  • Sale pages: Build a “Clearance” landing page that always shows current sale items without manual maintenance.

Tips

  • Use descriptive, keyword-rich slugs rather than generic ones (for example, mens-waterproof-hiking-boots rather than page-1).
  • Submit new landing page URLs to Google Search Console to speed up indexing.
  • Combine landing pages with visual merchandising campaigns to pin hero products at the top of the page.
